School Bullying

High school is an institution which provides all or part of secondary education. Other terms such as "secondary school" or "secondary college" are used in different nations or regions. The phrase "high school" often forms part of the name of the secondary institution.

The term "high school" originated in Scotland, with the world's oldest being Edinburgh's Royal High School from 1505.The Royal High School was used as a model for the first public high school in the United States, the English High School founded in Boston, Massachusetts in 1821.

The precise stage of schooling provided by a high school differs from country to country, and may vary within the same jurisdiction. In all of New Zealand and Malaysia along with parts of Australia, Bangladesh and Canada, high school is synonymous with secondary school, and encompasses the entire second stage of education.

School bullying is a type of bullying that takes place in an educational setting. Bullying can be physical, sexual, verbal, or emotional in nature. Recent statistics suggests that the majority of students will experience bullying at some point in their academic careers. The long term effects of bullying are numerous, and can include sensitivity, anxiety, and depression. It is important for teachers and parents to understand and recognize the signs of bullying (of both bullies and victims), and to be equipped with strategies and tools to address bullying in schools.

• Physical     

Physical bullying is any unwanted physical contact between the bully and the victim. This is one of the most easily identifiable forms of bullying. 

• Emotional
